CEVA opens West Hub in Singapore as well as City of Energy unit

Mar.13--DUTCH global supply chain giant CEVA Logistics has opened its West Hub in Singapore, which also acts as its new headquarters for south east Asia, the company announced.

The opening of the 48,000 square metre warehouse and office block, with its 300 personnel, was attended by CEVA chief executive Xavier Urbain.

"By 2020, more than 50 per cent of the world's middle income earners will come from Asia. This presents both opportunities and supply chain challenges for businesses," he said.

CEVA also announced the launch of its City of Energy at the West Hub, a new centre for warehousing, cross docking, flow management for oil and gas products and energy sector services.

The energy hub, covering 26,000 square metres and over 5,000 square metres of open yard space, has easy access to Jurong port and major highways.

CEVA said it pioneered the City of Energy concept in Dubai last year with a first-of-its-kind multi user operation dedicated to the oil and gas market in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.

Said CEVA vice president Elaine Low: "We have dedicated energy specialists, equipped with both the knowledge and operational capability to serve the needs of our customers at the energy hub."

The energy hub has high floor loading capacity of 30-35kn/m2, VNA space, special cargo containment area, RF material handling and processing, heavy lift services and warehouse management systems, as well as modern offices for customers to operate directly in the energy hub and be close to their warehouse operations.
