Spanish prices fall 0.2 pct in August

Sep.30--Spanish prices fell 0.2 percent in August in comparison with the same month in 2013, according to Consumer Price Index (CPI) data published Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

Prices fell 0.5 percent in August and by 0.3 percent in July year-on-year which meant that they have been falling for three consecutive months.
Provisional figures for August resulted from a fall in prices of electricity and stability in prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks compared with a year earlier.
The INE will confirm this data on Oct. 14 when it will provide more information on the evolution of prices.
