Apr.14--ACCORD Ship Management is to be renamed Crowley Accord through a partnership that aligns Nepa Projects of Hong Kong, which manages Accord, with Crowley USA, in a move designed to enhance the existing operations of Accord.
"Crowley stepping into the management of Accord is a great step forward," said Accord's managing director Sanjay Shesh.
"Crowley will propel Accord to a higher plane where economical solutions will be available to our existing and new clients with greater brand value and higher standards of committed service," he said.
Technical and crew management company, Accord Ship Management, has been in existence since 1992. It currently manages 20 vessels, and has offices in Hong Kong, India (Mumbai and Goa) and in the Netherlands, employing 55 staff.
Nepa Projects of Hong Kong has been involved with the management of the company since 2010. The company has since seen a steady increase in business and international repute, thanks to the efforts of Mr Shesh.
"When investigating international ship management companies that would allow Crowley to expand our business and create a greater presence outside of the US, we were careful to only pursue companies that share Crowley's corporate values and culture," said company vice president Mike Golonka.
"Accord has built a team that allows access to trained, qualified mariners without the additional expense of third-party crewing companies - something potential customers are demanding," said Mr Golonka.
